Hachicko : The loyalty of a dog (Written by Heci Aptrilia)

This film was released on March 2010. The genre of this film is drama/family. The film was directed by LasseHallstrom. The cast of this film is Richard Gere (Parker Wilson), Sarah Roemer (Andy Wilson), Joan Allen (Cate Wilson. The film was remake by LasseHallstrom because it was inspired by the true story of a dog named Hachiko who lived in the period 1923-1935 in Japan. Some films have shown the close relationship between dogs and humans. But different in this one film, the relationship between a dog and a human being looks so natural.

This film tells the story of a dog that is very loyal to its owner. A dog was first discovered by a professor, Mr. Parker Wilson at Bedrige, Wonsocked, United States, where he used to go and go home from work, because he couldn't bear to see the dog alone, finally Mr. Parker took home and looked after him. This dog was named "Hachi" because it hung a Japanese letter on the neck that read "Hachi". Parker, his wife Cate and they daughter took care of Hachi to grow up. Parkerwho plays with the dog every day makes their closeness even tighter. Until finally Hachi always accompanied and waited for Mr. Parker when he left and came home from work. This is done by Hachi for 10 years, without knowing the situation and conditions of endurance.

At the beginning of the film, maybe we who watch will be entertained to see funny and adorable behavior from Hachi, but mid to the end of the film sadness comes when Mr. Parker died due to heart attack.Because in this scene Hachi continues to come to the train station and waits for Mr. Parker went home, Hachi did not know that the owner would never come back with him.Years ago, Hachi made this habit with a physical condition that began to look thin, dirty until finally Hachi died where the dog was waiting for the return of Mr. Parker.Of course the success of this film is supported by cast who are able to portray their characters well. Like the character played by Richard Gere displaying strong chemistry with Hachi the dog. Somehow, but the two relations look so natural.Joan Allen and Sarah Roemer, they have loving character.Hachi's character in Hachiko's film shows a loving and loyal dog to Mr. Parker. The hard work of the Hachiko dog coaching team was successful because the dog seemed to be able to show emotion and expression.

This film reinforces the principles of devotion, love, selflessness, and faithfulnessthrough many sweet and tender moments throughout the movie. We can see Parker and Hachi share a bowl of popcorn, as they sit on the couch together, while watching a Yankees game. Parker also gets down on all fours to try to teach the puppy how to play fetch. This motion picture not only holds up from a moral standpoint, but it also holds its own from a cinematic perspective. Director, LasseHallström’s choice of musical score, soft piano music, enhances the film’s pathos beautifullymakes anyone's heart touched to hear the strains of the music that is perfect for the Hachiko film. The setting of this film was made in America and produced in 2009.Even though it is produced in different places and years, all the components of this film make the people watching feel the atmosphere.

Hachiko film are not just for those of you who are animal lovers but to watch all ages and are family films that can provide learning from the film. We can know that not always dogs that are known as frightening animals they will continue like that but on the other hand also have compassion, care, protection and loyalty to their owners. This all depends on how the owner treats the animal. The more we treat it well, the animal will also show a good attitude, and vice versa.Although made as closely as possible with the setting of the place, time, atmosphere and lighting according to the original story, this does not make us who watch become bored. The disadvantage of this film is that with the duration of the film 104 minutes is too short to describe, actually some characters at the train station can be made subplots so that they can support the main storyline.
Overall the story of the film is very simple and there are several repetitions of the scene. However, it turns out that behind this simple story the film has its own allure and does not bring this film to a predictable form. So that anyone who watches it will get carried away with emotion until it sheds tears. After watching this film we will be more affectionate with pets.
