This film was released on April 2018. The genre of this movie is drama, horror, thriller. The film was directed by JohnKrasinski who was also a cast, Emily Bunt, Noah Jupe, Millicents Simmonds and cade woodward. The background of this movie is post-apocalyptic stories where the inhabitants of the earth began to become extinct. Those who survived must survive by hide from the mysterious monster, these monsters seem blind but they have very sensitive hearing. They will hunt for everything that can make a sound, one of them is human. This movie tells a small family consists of father, elderly pregnant mother, along with her son and daughter, how they daily life must survive the attack of monster without saying a word.

Using silent scenes or almost not using dialogue to tell the story is very difficult. But the early sequence of A Quiet Place gives a perfect picture of what we will see in the next minute. This movie it’s same like silent movie, because 95% dialogue between cast using sign language such as footsteps or rubbing grass, occasionally with background music to describe the emotions of the scene and only two scenes display the pronunciation of words. 

Every scene in this movie we as spectators will be presented with nuances of riddle. Uniquely we will be showed how to muffle sound with objects or the behavior of the cast, like sprinkle a sack of sand on the path until eat everyday by using leaves as the base and not using footwear. As a horror movie, it feels incomplete if there is no jump scare. Jump scare in this movie is enough to make us surprised and more curious about each scene when watching.  Sound effect in this movie use cunning idea. Even though only 40% of the tone or music played but the movie successful in making us carried away by the gripping, strain and sad situation, becausethey make the sound effects that are much louder and dominant compared to other voices, so that the audience who can enjoy it fully.  The duration of this movie is 90 minute, not only good in sound effect, the cinematography too. A quiet place proves that a gripping situation does not only occur at night or in a dark but during the day and in a bright condition the terror of that horrible creature comes. 

Beside in terms of quality horror, it is also equipped with strong elements of drama. Our feelings will be touched in a family that maintains trust, love and willing to sacrifice each other. Emotional conflict between father who want to look after their families and children who restrained becomes an interesting to watch. The family struggle will make us empathetic with them. The success of this movie is supported by the characters and chemistry of each cast. Krasinski as a father figure has a soul that is not easy to give up, compassionate and brave to find ways and protect his family members. In addition, Blunt as a mother figure has an independent and responsible mother. They more concerned with the safety of their children than themselves. In this movie the interesting character is Millicent Simmonds as a daughter who could not hear. She was really teenager whose emotions were still unstable. With her limitations she has a way to protect her sister and family from attack of the monster.

In general, every horror movie always sounds like a scream that seems to make the atmosphere more tense, but not in this one film. A Quiet Place is able to carry a strong sense of horror. Every scene is dominated by gloomy lighting and lonely background.This film is very interesting but does not mean in this film have any irregularities. In my opinion, the irregularities were in a sceneKrasinski put up a lot of lights in the length of his house to give his family a code if things were in danger. It makes confused, where did the family find electricity while the city was extinct. But apart from that, this movie has a directed and simple storyline so we don't feel bored when we see it. It is one of the movies that recommend watching.
